□ 오는 12월 1일부터 4일까지 대한민국에서 개최되는 제19차 국제반부패회의의 홍보대사로 아이돌그룹 몬스타엑스가 선정됐다.
국민권익위원회(위원장 전현희, 이하 국민권익위)는 이번 달 23일 오후 2시 30분 서울특별시 코엑스에서 제19차 국제반부패회의 홍보대사 위촉식을 개최한다.
국제반부패회의(IACC, International Anti-Corruption Conference)는 1983년부터 격년마다 열리는 세계 최대 규모의 반부패포럼으로 올해 열리는 회의는 코로나19 확산으로 인해 비대면 화상회의로 개최된다.
□ Monsta X, a Korean boy group, has been appointed as publicity ambassador for the upcoming International Anti-Corruption Conference scheduled to be held from December 1 to 4 in Seoul, Korea.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC, Chairperson Jeon Hyun-Heui) is going to hold the appointment ceremony on October 23 at 2:30 pm at COEX, Seoul.
The International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) is the biggest global anti-corruption event held every two years since 1983. The conference this year will be held virtually due to COVID 19 pandemic.
□ 전현희 위원장은 10월 23일(금) 오후 서울 코엑스에서 열리는 위촉식에서 몬스타엑스에게 홍보대사 위촉장을 수여할 예정이다.
위촉식은 위촉장 수여, 명함 전달, 홍보대사 인터뷰 등으로 진행되며, 코로나19 예방을 위한 사회적 거리두기 동참 차원에서 소수의 관계자만 참석한 가운데 ‘권익비전’ 유튜브를 통해 생중계 된다.
홍보대사로 선정된 몬스타엑스는 홍보 포스터 및 배너광고 출연, 청렴 캠페인 참여 등을 통해 국제반부패회의 홍보를 맡게 된다.
□At the appointment ceremony on Thursday, October 30 at COEX, Chairperson Jeon Hyun-Heui is going to award Monsta X a letter of appointment.
Along with the appointment letter, the group will receive publicity ambassador business cards and have an interview as well. To join the government’s COVID 19 response efforts, in compliance with the social distancing measures, the event will be streamed on ACRC’s YouTube channel, with a small number of interested persons attended offline.
Monsta X will serve to promote the conference through promotional posters and banner ads.

국민권익위는 전 세계적으로 지명도가 높고 UN의 지속가능발전목표를 지지하는 ‘#TOGETHERBAND’ 캠페인의 SDGs 16* 홍보대사로 활동해 온 점을 높이 평가했다.
* 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)는 인류의 지속가능발전을 위해 2015년 UN에서 채택한 2030년까지의 공동 목표로 총 17개의 목표로 구성되며, 16번째 목표인 SDGs16은 평화, 정의와 제도(Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions)에 대한 목표임
□Monsta X, which debuted six years ago, is one of the most representative K-pop idol groups. With their powerful and versatile performances, they have wined popularity in Korea and throughout the word.
The ACRC highly acknowledged the groups’ international social activities such as by joining #TOGETHERBAND campaign in support of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal number 16*.
*The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consist of 17 goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 for sustainable development. Goal 16 concerns peace, justice, and strong institutions.
□ 몬스타엑스는 “젊은 세대와 국민들에게 진실을 말하고, 서로를 신뢰하며, 투명한 세상을 만들자는 ‘청렴’ 메시지를 전달하겠다.”며, “홍보대사로서 자긍심을 갖고 국제반부패회의가 국민들에게 보다 친근하게 다가갈 수 있도록 노력을 다하겠다.“라고 말했다.
□At the ceremony, Monsta X said, “We will deliver to young people and citizens a message of integrity calling to join the efforts of telling the truth, trusting each other and making a transparent world.” They added, “We feel proud for serving as IACC publicity ambassador. We will make our best to promote the conference to citizens, so that the conference could be attended by many citizens.”
□ 전현희 위원장은 “새 앨범 발매 준비로 바쁜 일정 중에도 홍보대사를 흔쾌히 수락해 준 몬스타엑스에게 감사하다”며, “코로나19 이후 더욱 중요해진 청렴에 대한 가치를 이번 회의를 통해 국민들에게 널리 알리는 데 몬스타엑스가 적극 앞장서 주길 바란다.”고 말했다.
□Chairperson Jeon said, “It is really grateful that Monsta X, despite busy schedule before the release of a new album, has happily accepted ACRC’s offer to serve as publicity ambassador for the IACC.” She added, “I hope that Monsta X could play an active role in talking to the people the importance of integrity in this COVID 19 at the conference.
