Whenever new government policies are made, netizens can search specific cases where previous policies were applied through private portals such as Daum and Nate.

The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) said that from December 21st, whenever government ministries and agencies announce their new policies, they write down specific cases where previous policies were applied in the form of Q&A, which is called “Policy Q&A,” on a real-time basis.

So far, the government notified the public of its new policies through news papers or broadcasting. However, the people did not actually know how such policies were specifically applied to them and what benefit they got.

This lack of information led to complaints, which in turn, siphoned off administrative resources of government agencies in a vicious circle.

To overcome this problem, the ACRC receives and compiles major policies implemented by each government agencies or issues that the general public needs to know in the form of Q&A, and post such information on private portals.

In the future, whenever government agencies announce their new policies, they are required to put the specifics of policies into Policy Q&A, and register them in e-People, and then provide such information to private portals.

Just in case people still have questions even after reading Policy Q&A in private websites, telephone number of competent government agencies will be offered so that people can make inquiries to government agencies that made certain policies.

In addition, in consultation with related government agencies, the ACRC has made public some 25,000 complaints that were frequently filed with e-People in Daum and Nate. The information released was accessed more than 920,000 times in total until December 15th.

The ACRC official said “By providing specific information on the resolution of frequently filed complaints and on government policies in private portals, we will be able to prevent complaints and strengthen communication with the people by making public accurate information.”
