“Citizen participation Round-table Forum” held to discuss

issues of unfairness in our society and concerns of young people in their 20s and 30s

A round-table forum was held for citizens to discuss and find solutions to unfair issues in our society and issues of young people in their 20s and 30s.

The ACRC held the “Citizen Participation Forum for the Society for All” in the afternoon of June 23 at the Premium Lounge in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The forum was attended by about 60 citizens, including the Integrity Policy Monitoring Team and others who suggested good policy ideas on the government website (idea.e-people.go.kr) to collect citizens’ ideas.

This forum was held by the ACRC, which addresses people’s complaints and inconveniences at the forefront, to listen to the real voices of the people in a situation where the desire for a clean society and difficulties of young people in their 20s and 30s have become major pending issues after the Moon administration took office.

The forum was attended by the Integrity Policy Monitoring Team consisting of citizens who are interested in anti-corruption and integrity policies, and those who were selected as having the “Best Idea” at the policy idea contest, “2030 Bamboo Forest” of the online platform for people’s policy ideas,

ACRC Chairperson Un Jong Pak also participated in all the sessions, including the group discussion activities.

The discussions were held in the form of “deliberation” to find solutions, going through group discussions under the 2 main themes of ① Our experiences in unfairness and the solutions ② Difficulties of young people in their 20s and 30s and the solutions, and then the general discussion session to listen to the diverse opinions of the participants.

Chairperson Pak said, “It was a valuable opportunity for me to listen to the issues about unfairness in our society and difficulties of young people in their 20s and 30s with honest and realistic stories, and to discuss the solutions.”

She also added, “The ACRC will analyze what was discussed today, find the solutions of the Commission, and cooperate with other concerned agencies to help the ideas of the people change the policies and administrative services.”

The ACRC will do its best for government innovation by listening to the voices of people more carefully and reflecting them in its anti-corruption and institutional improvement policies.
